Utility Coordination Group Leader

Location: North Charleston, South Carolina; Charleston or Columbia, South Carolina offices preferred. Other South Carolina office locations may be considered. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Salary: $105,794.62–$120,908.13 per year

What you will do

• Lead, manage, and train utility coordination staff across multiple projects.
• Coordinate utility conflict identification, removals, relocations, and facility modifications for SCDOT and related transportation projects.
• Serve as project manager for utility-coordination-only projects and grow a profitable South Carolina utility coordination group.
• Coordinate meetings with transportation agencies, utility owners, contractors, design disciplines, and project managers.
• Review and quality-control utility relocation packages, UBO and U-sheet plans, utility reports, conflict matrices, cost estimates, agreements, and schedules.
• Develop relocation strategies, assess risks, support subsurface utility engineering recommendations, and prepare environmental permit drawings and narratives.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of related experience or related field of study.
• Associate degree or higher in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field.
• Proficiency in MicroStation and ProjectWise.
• Knowledge of utility relocation regulations, engineering standards, construction safety, and applicable federal and North and South Carolina transportation requirements.
• Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or equivalent software.

Nice to have

• Experience with 3D tools such as ORD and clash detection.
• Design-build or alternative delivery experience.
• NCDOT, GDOT, or rail experience.
