Principal Procurement/Purchasing Specialist (Semiconductor)

Location: Taipei, Zhubei, Hukou, Taichung, Kaohsiung, Taiwan; onsite role with no remote work available

What you will do

• Lead strategic sourcing and commercial negotiations for MLCCs, inductors, and embedded substrates, including pricing, long-term agreements, capacity commitments, and payment terms.
• Own supplier strategy, selection, allocation, contract governance, and long-term supply assurance for assigned commodities.
• Drive cost optimization through cost-breakdown analysis, should-cost modeling, and localization strategies.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Product Groups, Supply Chain, and Finance across NPI, ramp-up, and product lifecycle management.
• Manage supplier performance, KPI reviews, continuous improvement, and escalations involving quality, delivery, capacity, and commercial disputes.
• Identify and mitigate supply-chain risks such as capacity constraints, geopolitical exposure, cost volatility, and supplier dependency.

Requirements

• 10+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in the semiconductor or electronics industry.
• Fluent English is required.
• Strong experience or familiarity with passive components, including MLCCs, inductors, and embedded substrates.
• Advanced Excel and data-analysis skills, with proficiency in PowerPoint for executive-level presentations.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, strategic sourcing, supplier management, or program management experience.

• Japanese language proficiency.
