Senior Underwriter, Trade Credit

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; primarily in the office

What you will do

• Build relationships with trade credit brokers and clients to grow the business portfolio.
• Underwrite complex new and renewal insurance submissions and negotiate policy terms and conditions.
• Analyze domestic and international corporate credit and recommend or approve credit limits and terms.
• Maintain and service an existing trade credit insurance portfolio.
• Market, sell, and present solutions to brokers and insureds while collaborating with distribution colleagues to close opportunities.
• Train and mentor underwriters, provide technical direction, and contribute to underwriting, marketing, audit, and special projects.

Requirements

• Background in credit or financial analysis with strong commercial development skills.
• 5–7 years of underwriting experience preferred.
• Experience in trade credit, finance, or banking preferred.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Cap IQ, Salesforce, and Factiva.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or finance required; MBA preferred.
