TL;DR
Senior Infrastructure Economist (Economic Research/Infrastructure): Leading client infrastructure projects and delivering economic research and objective analysis for transportation, energy, water, and related infrastructure needs with an accent on benefit-cost models, applied econometrics, forecasting, and quantitative data management. Focus on independently defining project scope, developing assessment models and strategy plans, solving complex client questions, and coordinating project delivery.
Location: Empire State Building, New York, New York; remote work is available in the United States.
Compensation: $133,635.31–$152,726.06 per year.

What you will do
- Lead client projects, assign work to staff, and provide professional guidance.
- Interact with clients and develop solutions based on their business practices, goals, and infrastructure needs.
- Define research scopes, prepare qualification statements, and develop project strategy plans.
- Ensure project goals, deadlines, and economic research quality are achieved.
- Support client development, proposals, and marketing activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, civil infrastructure engineering, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of experience in infrastructure economic research, such as transportation, energy, water, or a similar industry.
- Ability to independently perform economic projects and lead tasks.
- Experience creating benefit-cost models, applying econometrics or advanced forecasting, and managing quantitative data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to interact with clients regularly.
- Commitment to objective analysis, quality, and attention to detail.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in economics, planning, business, civil infrastructure engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Access, SPSS, Stata, EViews, economic assessment models, GIS software, and GIS datasets.
- Strong writing, oral communication, and organizational skills.
- Business development, sales, marketing, proposal, bid preparation, and strategy development experience.
- 10 or more years of infrastructure economic research experience and the ability to manage small- to mid-size projects.
