Contract Strategist

Location: Minneapolis, MN, United States

Salary: $85,000–$120,000 annually, plus eligibility for commission or an annual performance incentive plan.

What you will do

• Negotiate and support customer and strategic partner agreements, including NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, amendments, and related commercial documents.
• Collaborate with Sales, Legal, Finance, Tax, Compliance, Information Security, Product, and Operations stakeholders to obtain approvals for non-standard terms.
• Provide practical, risk-based guidance to Sales and business leaders to support revenue goals and deal execution.
• Identify and communicate contractual, financial, operational, and regulatory risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Support merger and acquisition due diligence, integration activities, new product offerings, commercialization efforts, and RFP/RFI reviews.
• Recommend improvements to contract templates, language, and contracting processes.

Requirements

• Location: Minneapolis, MN, United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business, or a related field, or a high school diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant experience.
• 2–4 years of experience drafting, reviewing, redlining, and negotiating commercial contracts with large businesses or banks.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, attention to detail, and issue-spotting skills.
• Ability to assess business and contractual risk and communicate recommendations effectively.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Nice to have

• Juris Doctor, Paralegal Certificate, or related legal/business credential.
• Experience supporting business-to-business or financial services contracting.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, Finance, Product, Compliance, and Operations.
