Bilingual Senior Commercial Lawyer

Location: Remote within Canada, with occasional in-person attendance at work-related events and some travel required

Salary: $144,000–$198,000 annually

What you will do

• Provide legal counsel and support to business units on complex matters affecting business operations.
• Review, draft, and negotiate complex commercial contracts, certificates, and related legal documents.
• Advise senior management on contractual matters involving personal-information transfers and technology.
• Monitor legislative developments, including PIPEDA, consumer reporting legislation, and other privacy requirements.
• Support corporate risk analysis, internal training, and cross-functional commercial initiatives.
• Brief the Director of Legal on significant legal, contractual, operational, and legislative issues.

Requirements

• J.D. or LLB from a recognized law school.
• Member in good standing of a law society in any Canadian province.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience as a lawyer.
• Bilingual English and French proficiency required.
• Knowledge of administrative law, consumer reporting legislation, privacy legislation, litigation, and corporate commercial law.
• Strong negotiation, advocacy, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities.
