Lead Counsel - Canada

Location: Hybrid role based at the Mississauga, Canada office, with remote work available according to business needs

What you will do

• Lead legal support across hirify.global's Canadian operations and advise business leaders on legal, regulatory, operational, and employment matters.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret commercial, procurement, government, and other business agreements.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal, regulatory, compliance, and business risks while developing practical solutions.
• Support compliance programs, investigations, training, policy development, privacy, product safety, customs, trade, and employment initiatives.
• Manage corporate governance activities, including board matters, records, resolutions, filings, and legal reporting.
• Lead or support litigation, disputes, external counsel management, stakeholder relationships, and legal team development.

Requirements

• LL.B. or equivalent law degree.
• Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario as a Barrister and Solicitor.
• At least 10 years of progressive legal experience with significant corporate, commercial, and compliance expertise.
• Strong knowledge of commercial transactions, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and employment matters.
• Proven strategic legal advisory, legal risk assessment, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada; visa or permanent-residency sponsorship is not available.
