Principal Mission Assurance Engineer (Aerospace): Ensuring mission assurance and quality compliance across the design, manufacturing, integration, and testing of satellite and aerospace communication systems with an accent on customer requirements, high-reliability standards, and supplier compliance. Focus on implementing quality processes, managing program risks, and investigating major nonconformances and failures through root cause and corrective action methodologies.
Location: Austin, Texas, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or otherwise eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations under space technology export regulations.

What you will do
- Own customer-specific mission assurance and quality requirements across design, manufacturing, integration, and testing.
- Implement mission assurance processes and modify existing quality management system processes.
- Prepare mission assurance reports, documentation, and other customer deliverables.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, supply chain, and cross-functional teams during audits, reviews, and program milestones.
- Manage risk activities, supplier requirement flow-down, and compliance actions.
- Lead investigations and dispositions of major nonconformances and failures, and review design and failure review boards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
- At least 8 years of relevant work experience or training.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or another high-reliability industry.
- Deep working knowledge of NASA, DoD, or similar mission assurance and high-reliability standards.
- Experience developing, documenting, implementing, and tailoring processes.
- Must satisfy U.S. space technology export-control eligibility requirements and work on-site in Austin, Texas.
Nice to have
- Experience with AS9100 Quality Management System compliance.
- Root cause analysis and continuous improvement experience.
- Strong written, verbal, digital, and interpersonal communication skills.
