Senior Project Architect (Healthcare)

Location: Empire State Building, New York, New York, United States; full-time role with onsite presence required as needed during design and construction.

Compensation: $149,671.54–$171,053.19 annually

What you will do

• Lead architectural development of complex health and wellbeing projects from pre-design and programming through construction administration and closeout.
• Own healthcare code analysis and life safety strategies, coordinating with Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
• Coordinate architectural designs with MEP/FP, medical gas, low-voltage, structural, and medical equipment systems.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, work plans, deliverable schedules, quality reviews, and constructability evaluations.
• Engage healthcare executives, clinical leaders, facilities teams, and end users to translate operational needs into coordinated architectural solutions.
• Support healthcare pursuits, client presentations, practice growth, and the mentoring of junior architects and emerging designers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• Active architectural registration in at least one United States jurisdiction and NCARB certification or the ability to obtain it.
• 15+ years of industry experience, including 10+ years focused on health and wellbeing architecture.
• Knowledge of FGI Guidelines, NFPA 99, NFPA 101, IBC, ADA, state Department of Health requirements, local codes, and AHJ processes.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Newforma.
• Experience coordinating complex healthcare projects and strong oral, written, visual, and client-facing communication skills.

Nice to have

• LEED AP, WELL AP, EDAC, or ACHA accreditation.
• Multi-state registration and Lean, IPD, design-build, or CMAR experience.
• Medical equipment planning, occupied healthcare renovation, state health department submissions, and complex AHJ approval experience.
• Healthcare pursuit, shortlist interview, technical narrative, and client relationship-building experience.
• Sefaira or comparable sustainability and performance analysis software experience.
