Mechanical Designer (HVAC)

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States; on-site five days per week

Salary: $63,111.66–$87,639.99 annual base salary range; exception hourly compensation

What you will do

• Work with Engineering to create parts, assemblies, layouts, sketches, and 2D and 3D drawings for HVAC products.
• Develop designs and technical documentation using Creo Parametric, computer-aided design, and product life cycle management systems.
• Apply knowledge of machine design, castings, fabrication, sheet metal, GD&T, tolerance analysis, electrical and electronic systems, heat transfer, piping, and welding.
• Identify design and product configuration problems, recommend solutions, and verify the accuracy of drawings and design data.
• Provide technical support to other departments regarding drawings and design data.
• Coordinate project planning and schedules, manage assigned project teams, and direct tasks through completion.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree, or an Associate’s Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Experience with SolidWorks, Creo Parametric, Creo Schematics, Inventor, or ProEngineer.
• Experience coordinating and directing project planning and scheduling.
• Knowledge of design and drafting standards, methods, and processes.
• Ability to work under close direction of senior staff and exercise minor independent judgment.
