Senior Project Manager-Public/Civic

Location: Charlotte, NC, United States; full-time, onsite role.

What you will do

• Manage multiple or large, complex construction projects from preconstruction through completion and warranty follow-up.
• Establish budgets and contract prices, negotiate subcontractor and material purchases, and support estimating activities.
• Set up project procedures, manage schedules, coordinate shop drawing approvals and material delivery, and maintain cost control.
• Build effective relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal management while organizing project meetings.
• Lead project teams, develop safety plans with the Superintendent, maintain quality control, and ensure contract compliance.
• Document project events, manage change orders and closeout procedures, and help mitigate claims and conflicts.

Requirements

• Public/civic construction experience is required.
• Degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture, or equivalent experience.
• 8–10 years of field construction management experience, including supervisory experience.
• Leadership, problem-solving, organizational, communication, drafting, and computer skills.
• Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting.
• Thorough understanding of scheduling, cost control, procurement, estimating, and other project management control systems.
