Certified Medical Physicist (MS or PhD)

Location: Midland, Texas; occasional travel to the sister clinic in Odessa, Texas

Texas Oncology is an independent, physician-led cancer care practice providing radiation treatment, advanced technology, and oncology research.

What you will do

• Support the full range of external beam radiation therapy procedures at the Midland practice.
• Plan and support HDR, SBRT, and SRS treatments.
• Work with Varian and Elekta radiation therapy equipment and treatment-planning systems.
• Support radiation safety responsibilities for X-ray registration and RAM licenses.
• Travel occasionally to the Odessa sister clinic, approximately 20 miles away, as needed.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Medical Physics from an accredited college or university.
• Graduation from a CAMPEP-accredited residency program.
• ABR board certification or equivalent and full Texas licensure.
• Experience with HDR planning and treatment, including SRS and SBRT.
• Ability to be added to the RAM license.
• Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of Varian linear accelerators.
• Experience with the Elekta/Nucletron microSelectron HDR afterloader and Oncentra TPS.
• Experience with Eclipse TPS, ARIA, and MOSAIQ record-and-verify systems.
