Admixture/Pharmacy Technician-PRN (Oncology)

What you will do

• Prepare, compound, and admix medication orders, including chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy IVs, under physician or pharmacist supervision.
• Verify order completeness, patient information, physician authorization, and insurance approval.
• Calculate dosage volumes and convert between metric and apothecary measurements.
• Maintain controlled-substance records, drug information, temperature logs, protocol documentation, and patient assistance program records.
• Manage medication and supply inventory, including quantities, lot numbers, expiration dates, labeling, ordering, data entry, and pre-billing review.
• Clean and maintain admixture and pharmacy areas, perform quality assurance checks, and follow OSHA, state, federal, and USP requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of pharmacy experience with IV skills.
• Current knowledge of medication preparation, pharmacy procedures, and applicable safety requirements.
• Ability to read measurements, maintain manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination, stand or sit for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work around patients, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and chemotherapeutic agents.

Nice to have

• IV certification.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate, unless required by applicable state law.
• Experience providing guidance or training to junior staff.
