Intern Engineering Designer, Rail + Transit

Location: New York, United States — 32 Old Slip; full-time, in-office role

Salary: $20–$30 per hour

What you will do

• Review engineering plans and details and perform quantity take-offs.
• Support project monitoring, scheduling, computer modeling, and progress reporting.
• Assist with engineering drawings, calculations, and cost estimates under senior-engineer supervision.
• Apply relevant codes and standards to engineering deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineers, drafters, and support staff.
• Attend site visits and inspections.

Requirements

• Current third-year undergraduate or graduate student standing in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Experience with MS Word, Excel, and engineering software.
• Knowledge of Bluebeam, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
• Strong organizational, time-management, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
