Accounting Manager

Location: On-site in Montréal, Quebec, Canada

What you will do

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Oversee bank, general ledger, petty cash, and inventory reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports and KPIs, including variance explanations for leadership and operations.
• Coach, mentor, and develop the accounting team while managing priorities and performance expectations.
• Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and corporate governance requirements.
• Coordinate external audits and implement process improvements, automation, and system enhancements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• At least five years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or people management responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or NCECF, financial reporting standards, and internal control frameworks.
• Experience managing month-end close processes and financial reporting cycles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Maximo, Dayforce, or equivalent.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• CPA or CMA designation.
• Manufacturing industry experience.
