Controller North America

Location: Hybrid in Montreal, Canada; occasional travel to hirify.global offices across North America is required.

What you will do

• Oversee accounting operations, internal controls, statutory compliance, and corporate standards across entities in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
• Lead regional month-end closing, corporate reporting, annual statutory and corporate audits, and payroll administration.
• Manage treasury activities, cash-flow planning, and cooperation with banks, lawyers, external advisors, and tax authorities.
• Coordinate tax compliance filings and transfer-pricing adherence with the global tax team.
• Lead, develop, and support accounting teams based in Canada and Mexico.
• Drive accounting process improvements and contribute to North American strategic projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a CPA designation.
• 8–10 years of experience in a similar role within a multinational organization.
• Payroll experience in Canada, the United States, or Mexico.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and reporting standards, local GAAP adjustments, IFRS, sales tax, and multi-country financial oversight.
• Fluency in English and French is required.
• Advanced Excel skills, ERP experience, and strong team leadership capabilities.

Nice to have

• Spanish language skills.
• Experience with IFRS revenue recognition using percentage of completion and project accounting.
• Transfer-pricing knowledge and experience with D365.
