Intermediate Plumbing Design Technician (Building Systems)

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio, United States; occasional project site visits required.

What you will do

• Produce complete plumbing construction documents for domestic hot and cold water distribution, sanitary waste and vent, and storm drainage systems.
• Develop detailed plumbing layouts, models, and documentation in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Apply national and local plumbing codes to design layouts and calculations.
• Coordinate plumbing models and drawings with HVAC, electrical, fire protection, architectural, and project management teams.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve spatial clashes through BIM coordination workflows.
• Review shop drawings and contractor RFIs, visit project sites, evaluate existing conditions, and support construction-phase activities.

Requirements

• 10+ years of practical, hands-on plumbing design experience, or 5+ years of practical experience combined with an Associate's degree in a related technical discipline.
• Extensive experience designing waste and vent, domestic hot and cold water, and storm water systems.
• Proficient working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
• Solid understanding of clash detection, clash resolution, and holistic building-system coordination.
• General working knowledge of plumbing codes.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and construction personnel.
• Strong interest in buildings and construction.
