Supervisor, Preparation Minerals

Location: IN-912, East Chicago, Indiana, USA. Full-time role with day and afternoon rotating shifts.

What you will do

• Supervise daily activities and performance of Preparation Technicians while making day-to-day operational decisions.
• Schedule personnel and coordinate the timely receipt, identification, preparation, and analysis of mineral samples.
• Perform Senior Laboratory Technician duties, including mineral sample preparation, sample handling, reporting, and equipment upkeep.
• Train new technicians and reinforce applicable ASTM and other preparation standards.
• Maintain equipment maintenance, calibration, and standardization schedules and ensure results are recorded.
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental requirements and conduct monthly operations meetings.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial, laboratory, or field operations with strict safety standards.
• 1+ year of supervisory experience.
• Current driver’s license may be required when operating a company vehicle.
• Ability to work rotating day and afternoon shifts.
• Ability to obtain a TWIC and/or 24-hour surface Miner MSHA certificate if required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field combined with the required experience.
