Vice President, Clinical Solutions Product Development (NGS)

Location: US - California - San Diego

Base salary: $295,400–$443,200 per year, plus eligible bonus, commission, and equity opportunities.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end development of the clinical assay and next-generation sequencing library preparation product portfolio, from early concept through regulatory approval, commercialization readiness, and market sustainment.
• Oversee RUO and IVD product development teams and clinical product support.
• Translate scientific, technical, and clinical roadmaps into product roadmaps with Product Management, Medical Affairs, and R&D.
• Coordinate integration of clinical assays with sequencing platforms and software systems to create end-to-end solutions.
• Manage directors and senior individual contributors, budgets, timelines, resources, strategic partnerships, and customer engagement.
• Support regulatory compliance, scientific leadership, and relationships with key opinion leaders through customer consultations and scientific congresses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 20 years of related experience, including 15+ years of leadership experience.
• Advanced degree in life sciences, such as a PhD or MD, is strongly preferred.
• Experience developing molecular diagnostics technology in high-complexity clinical laboratory settings.
• Deep understanding of IVD development and regulatory processes in US and European markets, including FDA and IVDR requirements.
• Proven experience advancing assays through clinical development toward regulatory approval, including assay and library preparation development for NGS.
• Strong strategic thinking, executive communication, decision-making, and multidisciplinary team leadership skills.
