Focus on developing financial models and dashboards, managing audits and grants, overseeing payroll and HR processes, and guiding school and regional leaders through complex finance and business operations decisions.

Location: Baltimore, Maryland, USA; full-time, on-site role

Salary: USD 114,000–126,000 per year

What you will do

  • Develop and execute strategic financial plans aligned with organizational and educational priorities.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow, investments, financial risk, audits, and compliance reporting.
  • Build and maintain pro-forma financial models, organization-wide processes, reports, and dashboards for decision-making.
  • Manage finance and HR staff responsible for accounting, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, benefits, onboarding, and employee relations.
  • Support school-level financial operations, grant management, performance management, and compliance with Maryland laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with school and regional leaders, funders, regulators, and community partners on financial and HR matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, human resources, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least five years of progressive experience in finance and/or HR leadership, preferably in education or the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong expertise in budgeting, financial analysis, resource allocation, and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, payroll administration, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in Baltimore, Maryland.

Nice to have

  • CPA, SHRM-CP, or SPHR certification.
  • Experience in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
