What you will do
- Provide all aspects of radiation oncology physics support, including quality assurance and external beam clinical services.
- Oversee a busy stereotactic program and perform treatment planning for intracranial SRS cases.
- Collaborate with nearby Texas Oncology clinics and provide cross-coverage, including possible HDR duties.
- Perform Radiation Safety Officer duties and maintain X-ray registration.
- Maintain compliance with Texas Oncology guidelines and Texas Department of State Health Services regulations.
- Collaborate remotely with regional physicists on chart responsibilities and vacation coverage.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD degree in medical physics from a CAMPEP-accredited program.
- Graduate of a CAMPEP-accredited residency program.
- ABR board certification or active progress toward certification, including eligibility as a new resident graduate.
- Eligibility for a Texas license is required.
- Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including standing for up to 8 hours, lifting a 40-pound block, and monitoring radiation therapy treatments.
