What you will do

  • Provide all aspects of radiation oncology physics support, including quality assurance and external beam clinical services.
  • Oversee a busy stereotactic program and perform treatment planning for intracranial SRS cases.
  • Collaborate with nearby Texas Oncology clinics and provide cross-coverage, including possible HDR duties.
  • Perform Radiation Safety Officer duties and maintain X-ray registration.
  • Maintain compliance with Texas Oncology guidelines and Texas Department of State Health Services regulations.
  • Collaborate remotely with regional physicists on chart responsibilities and vacation coverage.

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD degree in medical physics from a CAMPEP-accredited program.
  • Graduate of a CAMPEP-accredited residency program.
  • ABR board certification or active progress toward certification, including eligibility as a new resident graduate.
  • Eligibility for a Texas license is required.
  • Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including standing for up to 8 hours, lifting a 40-pound block, and monitoring radiation therapy treatments.
