Electrical Engineer III (Communications)

Location: Carpentersville, Illinois, United States; full-time onsite role. U.S. citizenship required.

Salary: $90,000–$105,000 annual base salary, based on qualifications and experience.

What you will do

• Lead electrical product development from concept and circuit design through bring-up, validation, production, and customer support.
• Design analog, digital, audio, sensing, battery, power-management, and microprocessor-based systems.
• Develop schematics, bills of materials, engineering change notices, test plans, and product specifications using schematic and layout tools.
• Guide PCB routing, high-speed interfaces, impedance control, power distribution, EMC compliance, and regulatory testing.
• Perform hands-on troubleshooting, failure analysis, reliability and EMC testing, and production test development.
• Collaborate with Sales, Quality, Mechanical, Firmware, and Manufacturing Engineering teams while supporting project schedules and design reviews.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and a BSEE degree.
• 5+ years of concept-to-production electrical engineering experience.
• Expertise in analog, digital, and audio circuit design, including bring-up and hardware/software integration.
• Experience with SDIO, I²C, SPI, RS-232, UART, JTAG, parallel and serial interfaces, as well as microprocessors, sensors, Bluetooth, and USB.
• Knowledge of battery charging, power management, EMC/ESD mitigation, failure analysis, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong communication, teamwork, prioritization, independent problem-solving, and Microsoft Office skills; Altium experience is preferred.

Nice to have

• Embedded software familiarity.
• Altium schematic and PCB layout experience.
