Electrical Sustaining Engineer II (HVAC)

What you will do

• Modify existing electrical diagrams and create new electrical and controls system designs for production HVAC units.
• Select components, define specifications, and ensure electrical designs integrate with mechanical and other product systems.
• Guide electrical designers and provide design oversight for assigned projects.
• Test and troubleshoot electrical and controls products, establish procedures for operation, maintenance, and repair, and support field problem resolution.
• Implement engineering change notices and support prototypes, initial production, test fixtures, and part-shortage decisions.
• Create cost estimates, bills of materials, CAD models, simulations, product documentation, and technical literature while supporting DFMEA, PFMEA, FEA, and seismic evaluations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology.
• 1–3 years of industry experience.
• Knowledge of electrical and control component selection for HVAC equipment and the ability to read electrical schematics.
• Ability to maintain compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards, including UL, CE, NEC, IBC, and NFPA.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sit or stand for up to 95% of the work shift.
• Ability to work occasionally in temperatures below 32°F or above 90°F and travel to customer sites when needed.
