Senior Application Engineer (DDR5)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; onsite; remote work is not available

Salary: $120,000–$145,000 annual pay, plus bonus opportunities

What you will do

• Validate new DDR5 power modules, memory controllers, and related products through bench measurements and industry-standard testing.
• Analyze DDR5 modules and develop strategies to improve system power efficiency without compromising performance.
• Build and maintain bench automation software, simulation models, and tools for analyzing power consumption at chip, board, and system levels.
• Provide technical support to customers during product development and integration, resolving application-level power issues.
• Collaborate with design, product, test, packaging, and other teams to meet performance and specification requirements.
• Prepare specifications, datasheets, application notes, power analysis reports, validation reports, and test plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in power management, memory system design, or a related area.
• Hands-on experience validating analog, digital, and power management devices, including PMICs, SPD hubs, I3C switches, and temperature sensors.
• Strong knowledge of analog and mixed-signal circuits, including amplifiers, ADCs, DACs, voltage regulators, and related power components.
• Automation experience with LabVIEW, Python, or similar programming languages.
• Experience providing customer technical support and preparing technical reports, application notes, datasheets, and related collateral.

Nice to have

• Three or more years focused on DDR5 or similar high-speed memory technologies.
• Master’s or Ph.D. in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with DDR5 JEDEC standards and protocols.
• Experience with power modeling, simulation tools, and hardware design tools.
