Staff Engineer, High-Speed I/O Analog-Mixed Circuit (SERDES)

Location: Daily onsite presence at the San Jose headquarters, San Jose, California, United States

Base pay: $163,000–$253,000 USD per year, plus incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Design analog and mixed-signal circuits, including high-speed data converters, PLLs, and SERDES.
• Run simulations with advanced CAD tools and work with verification engineers to confirm functionality and performance.
• Own circuit and system specifications for high-speed memory I/O interfaces.
• Guide block-level and top-level layout floor planning, supervise layout activities, and contribute hands-on when needed.
• Document circuit designs and simulation results.
• Collaborate with device and process teams to define transistor specifications and support silicon bring-up and automated measurements.

Requirements

• BS with 10+ years, MS with 8+ years, or PhD with 5+ years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience with system-on-chip architecture, high-speed serial interfaces, and analog/mixed-signal circuit design using advanced CMOS technology nodes.
• Experience designing at least one high-speed interface such as DDR, LPDDR, GDDR, or HBM.
• Expertise in layout requirements for high-speed circuits and knowledge of DLL, PLL, FFE, CTLE, DFE, output drivers, ODT, duty-cycle correction, training/calibration, and high-speed power design.
• Experience with high-frequency clock distribution, PPA trade-offs, silicon bring-up, and complex technical troubleshooting.
• Strong EDA and scripting skills, including Cadence, MATLAB/Simulink, electromagnetic tools, Tcl, and Perl.
