TL;DR
Site Engineer Intern (Aerospace Hardware): Designing, building, and deploying electrical and mechanical hardware for phased-array ground station sites with an accent on ground support equipment, wire harnesses, and field deployment. Focus on owning projects from inception through production, troubleshooting live site operations, and coordinating with electrical, mechanical, software, manufacturing, and external engineering teams.

Location: Torrance, California; ability to relocate to Los Angeles, California for 12 weeks during Summer 2026. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, protected-individual status, or authorization under ITAR regulations is required.

Compensation: $36 per hour

hirify.global develops space infrastructure and advanced communications technology, including a global network of phased-array ground stations for satellite missions.

What you will do

  • Own a ground station hardware project from inception through design, production, and field deployment.
  • Build ground support equipment, wire harnesses, and test setups.
  • Support site operations for customer-serving ground stations worldwide by identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues urgently.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers, external companies, technicians, and management.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled in a bachelor's or graduate program in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Be able to relocate to Los Angeles, California for 12 weeks during Summer 2026.
  • Communicate professionally with engineers, management, technicians, and external companies.
  • Meet U.S. Government ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

  • GPA of 3.5 or above.
  • Experience designing, building, and testing complex electrical and mechanical systems outside the classroom.
  • Participation in FSAE, rocket clubs, robotics clubs, IEEE, college athletics, or similar competitions and leadership activities.
