What you will do

  • Plan, coordinate, evaluate, and document continuity of care for oncology and hematology patients.
  • Assess patient health status, review clinical data, report findings to providers, and provide patient and family education.
  • Prepare and administer medications, blood products, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy under physician supervision.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, maintain central lines, and support dose modifications and symptom management.
  • Coordinate appointments, referrals, diagnostic procedures, medication refills, patient triage, and communication with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Support clinical research, mentor LPN/LVNs and medical assistants, and provide nursing coverage for satellite offices as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited professional nursing education program; BSN preferred.
  • Current RN license and registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification and compliance with continuing education requirements.
  • Three to five years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology preferred.
  • Ability to work in an oncology and hematology clinic with potential exposure to communicable diseases, cytotoxic agents, biohazardous materials, and ionizing radiation.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift or carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Oncology certification.
  • Infusion nursing experience.
  • Chemotherapy Immunotherapy provider card.
  • Experience programming and maintaining ambulatory infusion pumps.
