Sr. Staff Product Manager (HT/NGS)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; onsite at headquarters

Salary: $155,600–$233,400 base salary per year, plus eligible bonus or commission and potential equity.

What you will do

• Lead platform-level product management for novel sequencing system development and end-to-end workflow solutions.
• Collaborate with R&D, Operations, Commercial, Quality, Research, Product Development, and Global Marketing teams to deliver compatible on-market and future products.
• Define system requirements using market research, customer insights, business analytics, and customer use cases.
• Develop business cases, pricing recommendations, initial sales forecasts, product strategies, and product roadmaps.
• Establish commercialization strategies and support product launch value propositions, messaging, training, and collateral.
• Build relationships with customers, thought leaders, partners, and industry influencers to identify market trends and growth opportunities.

Requirements

• 12+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, 8+ years with a master’s degree, or 5+ years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
• Required experience with next-generation sequencing technologies, including SBS, and product management across the full development lifecycle.
• Demonstrated success launching a major new product commercially in an active product role.
• Experience developing system requirements and guiding early-development products with R&D teams toward product-market fit and design inputs.
• Strong public speaking, executive presentation, analytical, strategic, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Customer implementation experience with sequencing workflows.
• Capital equipment product management experience.
• Experience with both hardware and software.
• Prior market development experience.
