Product Manager - API Platforms (API)

Salary: $80,000–$175,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Manage integrations between the platform and external partners.
• Define and execute a long-term API strategy for connecting disparate systems.
• Improve public APIs by standardizing capabilities, reducing redundancy, and creating consistency across solutions.
• Research partner and industry needs, analyze complex business problems, and document detailed solutions.
• Create process models, workflows, specifications, diagrams, user stories, and acceptance criteria for product, development, and QA teams.
• Monitor API integration health, mitigate risks, resolve issues, and track API success metrics.

Requirements

• 5+ years of product management experience, including 2+ years managing API design and development.
• 3–5 years of experience in the health, life, or disability insurance industry.
• Experience establishing an API product vision and aligning stakeholders across multiple functional areas.
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0 Web API security, including Client Credentials and Authorization Code grant types.
• Experience with API contracts such as Swagger specifications, and strong understanding of JSON and JSON Schema structures.
• Bachelor’s degree, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage complex initiatives with limited supervision.

• Experience digitizing a similarly complex B2B supply chain.
• Product Management Certification.
