Assistant Financial Controller (US)

Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA; office and remote work environment with regular partnerships with Lancaster manufacturing site leadership and operations teams. Periodic travel to other hirify.global offices or manufacturing and finance locations may be required.

What you will do

• Lead month-end close activities for the Lancaster manufacturing site, including journal entries, accruals, reclasses, overhead reporting, reconciliations, and close review packages.
• Own balance sheet integrity and ensure expenses, inventory, labor, overhead, and manufacturing costs are recorded accurately and in the proper period under U.S. GAAP and company policy.
• Prepare and analyze manufacturing performance reporting covering labor, materials, overhead, scrap, usage, yield, inventory, production efficiency, and cost variances.
• Perform manufacturing cost accounting, including standard-versus-actual cost analysis, inventory valuation, reserves, and cost center reviews.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, plant leadership, finance, and shared services to explain results, identify risks, support forecasts, and recommend corrective actions.
• Execute and improve internal controls and SOX requirements, support audits, maintain ERP and data integrity, coach finance resources, and drive process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting, controllership, manufacturing finance, plant finance, or cost accounting experience.
• Direct experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with inventory, standard costing, overhead, and variance analysis is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on ownership of month-end close, journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting packages.
• ERP experience is required; NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, or an equivalent system is preferred.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial close, internal controls, and manufacturing cost structures.
• Ability to connect plant operating performance to financial results and communicate insights to non-finance stakeholders.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills, including reporting, reconciliations, and variance bridges.
• Strong attention to detail, ownership, communication, prioritization, cross-functional partnership, integrity, discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
• Fluent English.

• CPA, CMA, MBA, or an equivalent advanced credential.
• Experience in a SOX-controlled, audit-driven, or public-company environment.
• Experience supervising, reviewing, or coaching accounting and finance resources.
