Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Salary: $115,000–$136,000 per year.

What you will do

• Implement and maintain supplier quality processes and documentation aligned with AS9100.
• Partner with engineering, operations, and supply chain to ensure supplier compliance with quality, customer, industry, and regulatory requirements.
• Qualify, review, manage, assess, and, when necessary, remove suppliers from the approved supplier base.
• Provide suppliers with technical guidance, training, and support, including design-for-manufacturability collaboration with design engineering.
• Investigate supplier nonconformances, lead root-cause corrective actions, and support rework, scrap, and RMA dispositions.
• Monitor SCARs, supplier performance metrics, site audits, source inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or a related technical field.
• 5–8 years of supplier quality experience in the aerospace and defense industries.
• Experience managing suppliers for space-grade machining, PCBs, PCBAs, integrated assemblies, and testing.
• Experience with certified quality management systems such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.
• Expertise in root-cause analysis methodologies and corrective-action implementation.
• Ability to interpret engineering documentation, requirements, and supplier flow-downs, supported by strong supplier management, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
