Machine Operator - 1st Shift

Location: Monroe, Wisconsin, United States; onsite, 1st shift Monday–Friday, approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Salary: $20.15–$22.40 per hour

What you will do

• Set up, adjust, and operate auxiliary and automatic bindery machines, including folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, and binding or gluing equipment.
• Operate equipment that produces finished books, catalogs, manuals, directories, magazines, and other printed products.
• Adjust coordinated workstations and operate automatic adhesive binding machines.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues and maintain functional operating conditions.
• Direct the production crew and monitor quality, output, and productivity.

Requirements

• Familiarity with paper weights, sizes, types, colors, moisture conditions, and curling.
• Basic mathematics skills, including decimals and metric units, for dimensional adjustments.
• Ability to use standard, specialized, and manufacturer-provided hand tools to adjust and maintain machines.
• Ability to read and interpret written instructions specifying machine operations and dimensional requirements.
• Knowledge of bindery equipment operating procedures and folding, collating, cutting, and finishing processes.
• Ability to work the required morning and afternoon hours on the 1st shift.
