Engineering Test Lab Intern (Marine)

Location: Lowell, Michigan, United States; onsite. Full-time internship from May to August, with a 40-hour work week. Relocation is available.

Salary: $18.00–$27.00 per hour

What you will do

• Support product validation activities under the guidance of validation engineers and senior or principal test technicians.
• Collaborate with technical stakeholders to understand product requirements and develop validation solutions.
• Identify and troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical engineering issues.
• Plan and execute validation activities, including fixture design and builds, test scheduling, test execution, and report writing.
• Design and build test stands and custom fixturing, run tests with various equipment, and support prototype and sample builds.
• Maintain validation documentation and support 5S kaizen and audit processes.

Requirements

• Working toward a Bachelor of Applied Science degree, such as BSME, BSEE, BSSE, or a related discipline.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, synthesize solutions from vague or incomplete inputs, and manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to plan, coordinate, and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be immediately authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future.
• Must commit to a full-time internship from May through August.

Nice to have

• Hands-on mechanical work experience.
• Studies in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Familiarity with marine or RV products.
• Experience with new product development cycles and validation.
