Principal Electronics Test Engineer I

Location: Austin, TX, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations.

What you will do

• Design and execute prototype, qualification, acceptance, and board-level verification tests.
• Develop test systems for integrated hardware and software, including radios, computers, and phased-array antennas.
• Write test software for devices under test and laboratory equipment, and improve internal testing tools and documentation.
• Define test requirements, architectures, fixtures, equipment selections, and data-logging methods for new products.
• Advise design engineers on design-for-testability, troubleshoot hardware and software, and train technicians and operators.
• Evaluate and document test results, present findings to customers and executives, support proposals, and contribute to laboratory management.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 9 years of industry or university research experience designing, analyzing, and implementing electronic products or test systems.
• Experience designing and executing test plans for custom board-level electronics.
• Hands-on experience with digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, and vector signal analyzers.
• Programming or scripting experience, such as Python.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Board-level hardware design and automated test-rack development.
• Aerospace industry experience.
• EMI/EMC test design and execution.
• Experience with RF and mixed-signal hardware, including amplifiers, filters, ADCs/DACs, and antennas.
