Senior Corporate Counsel and M&A - 6 Months FTC

Location: London, UK; based from offices in Chancery Lane, London

Contract role for an initial 6-month fixed-term contract, with potential extension or conversion to a permanent opportunity.

Global provider of threat detection and security screening technology for aviation, ports and borders, defence, and urban security, with 21 offices, seven manufacturing sites, five R&D centres, and approximately 3,000 employees.

What you will do

• Lead legal support for acquisitions, divestitures, strategic partnerships, and joint ventures.
• Manage transactions from initial engagement through completion and post-acquisition integration.
• Coordinate external counsel, specialist providers, due diligence, negotiations, and transaction documentation.
• Oversee legal entity management, annual compliance requirements, board and director changes, and corporate restructuring.
• Support ethics matters and internal investigations, including case documentation, reporting, governance, and awareness initiatives.
• Partner with Legal, Finance, Corporate Development, and senior business stakeholders on strategic growth opportunities.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor with a law degree.
• Significant post-qualification experience in an in-house legal team and/or leading law firm.
• Strong M&A and corporate transactional experience covering due diligence, negotiations, and deal execution.
• Experience managing external counsel and coordinating complex legal workstreams.
• Ability to identify and communicate legal and commercial risks to senior stakeholders.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

• In-house experience supporting acquisitions and strategic investments.
• International or cross-border transaction experience.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, engineering, technology, or other global corporate environments.
• Experience with legal entity governance, corporate compliance, ethics, investigations, or compliance processes.
