Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Miamisburg, Ohio, USA. The role is based at the Miamisburg facility and offers a flexible hybrid schedule combining on-site lab work with remote work.

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end design, analysis, validation, and manufacturing transition of mechanical products and sub-assemblies.
• Develop novel thermal barcode printers, RFID solutions, wireless applications, accessories, and related services.
• Own manufacturing data packages and assembly drawing creation for production.
• Guide, coach, and mentor less-experienced mechanical engineers across several concurrent projects.
• Establish and apply mechanical engineering best practices, manufacturing knowledge, and recommendations for mechanical capital equipment.
• Lead conceptual architecture sessions, design reviews, simulations, structured problem solving, and cross-functional communication of risks and decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 9 years of professional mechanical engineering experience, including work as a technical subject matter expert, lead engineer, or technical mentor.
• Advanced experience with SolidWorks or a similar 3D modeling tool.
• Deep experience designing injection-molded parts, selecting materials for plastic designs, and creating assembly and detail drawings with accurate dimensions and tolerances.
• Experience with thermal flow, strain/stress, FEA, and torque analysis, along with structured problem-solving methods.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, technical influence, independent problem solving, and availability for occasional travel.

Nice to have

• Pro/E experience.
• Experience with high-volume product design, thermal printer mechanisms, paper handling systems, or related dispensing equipment.
