Sanitation Manager (Food Manufacturing): Managing sanitation functions and food safety programs at a regulated manufacturing facility with an accent on cGMP compliance, microbiological controls, environmental monitoring, and cross-functional operational support. Focus on eliminating contamination risks, standardizing sanitation systems, leading continuous improvement, and developing plant sanitation teams.

Location: Reno, Nevada, United States; onsite five days a week. The work schedule must be flexible throughout the week and may include weekends; travel may be required.

Salary range: $75,800–$141,700, $83,400–$155,900, or $90,900–$170,100 annually, depending on the applicable U.S. labor-cost zone. The role is also eligible for participation in incentive plans.

What you will do

  • Manage sanitation functions, the plant master sanitation schedule, documentation, audits, testing, and sanitation improvement plans.
  • Ensure cleaning and sanitation procedures support product safety, quality standards, cGMPs, and federal regulatory compliance.
  • Manage third-party suppliers, chemical services, pest control services, and the plant sanitation team.
  • Lead continuous improvement and standardization of sanitation systems, tools, processes, and validation activities.
  • Approve sanitation validation for new equipment, products, processes, and formulation changes.
  • Provide technical training and collaborate with quality, operations, maintenance, engineering, logistics, learning management, R&D, and technical services.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in FDA-regulated cosmetics, food, or beverage manufacturing, combining quality and/or sanitation experience.
  • Experience with FDA audits, cGMPs, FDA regulations, microbiology, analytical testing, pathogen environmental monitoring, and food-manufacturing sanitation.
  • Strong problem-solving, issue-resolution, root-cause-analysis, written communication, verbal communication, leadership, organization, and project-management skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with R&D, manufacturing, quality control, and technical services.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
  • Availability for onsite work five days per week, a flexible schedule, and occasional weekend work.

  • Sanitarian certification.

  • Experience with analytical testing requirements and methodologies.
