Optical Manager, Certified (ABO) (Optical)

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States; onsite at the Sam’s Club Vision Center.

Salary: $34.50–$46.50 per hour, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.

What you will do

• Drive Vision Center sales through merchandise presentation, competitive pricing, signing, inventory availability, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Supervise, hire, train, mentor, assign duties to, and recognize Vision Center Associates.
• Provide optical services by consulting with Members and Customers, selecting eyewear, taking measurements, verifying prescriptions, performing minor frame repairs, and maintaining equipment.
• Resolve customer and Associate concerns under company policies, including support for the Open Door Policy.
• Ensure compliance with company and legal requirements, confidentiality standards, asset protection, safety controls, and quality assurance processes.
• Coordinate community outreach, stakeholder relationships, business initiatives, performance measurement, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

• Completion of two or more years of college, or one year of retail experience plus one year of supervisory experience, or two years of general work experience including one year of optical experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current eligibility to work as an optician or apprentice optician under applicable state laws, regulations, and rules.
• Ability to support eyewear selection, measurements, prescription verification, confidential records, customer service, and optical equipment maintenance.
