Senior Marine Claims Adjuster (Marine Insurance)

What you will do

• Handle marine liability, logistics, and cargo claims from first notification through policy and legal liability assessment, quantum analysis, and resolution.
• Manage a predominantly lead portfolio for London Market and multinational blue-chip clients.
• Communicate with clients, brokers, underwriters, internal stakeholders, and other relevant parties.
• Contribute to marine claims best practices, trend analysis, audit follow-up, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
• Attend claims reviews, travel as required, and support larger and more complex claims.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, training, and presentations to junior colleagues and internal or external audiences.

Requirements

• Good experience and knowledge handling marine liability, third-party cargo, or first-party cargo claims, with general third-party claims experience preferred.
• Strong policy language skills for accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation.
• Working knowledge of legal, regulatory, litigation, and procedural requirements relevant to marine claims.
• Experience following up on technical claims audit recommendations and improving claims handling practices.
• Lateral thinking, problem-solving ability, and capability to develop improved working practices.
• Ability to work primarily from the London office and travel to claims reviews as required.
