Senior Marine Claims Adjuster (Marine Insurance)

What you will do

• Handle allocated Marine claims within agreed authority limits, from first notification through policy and legal liability assessment, quantum analysis, mitigation, and resolution.
• Manage predominantly lead claims across Marine Liability, Transport and Logistics, and Cargo for London Market and multinational clients.
• Communicate claim developments and outcomes with clients, brokers, underwriters, and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to Marine claims procedures, best-practice standards, trend analysis, technical audits, and continuous improvement.
• Support complex claims, claims performance reporting, TPA oversight, Shared Services quality assurance, and ad-hoc projects.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, training, and presentations to junior colleagues and internal or external audiences.

Requirements

• Good experience handling Marine Liability, third-party cargo, or first-party cargo claims; general third-party claims experience is preferred.
• Strong policy language skills for accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation.
• Working knowledge of legal, regulatory, litigation, and procedural requirements relevant to Marine claims.
• Experience following up on recommendations from technical claims audits and improving claims handling practices.
• Lateral thinking, problem-solving ability, and capacity to develop new working practices.
• Full-time, primarily office-based work in London is expected.
