Mercury Marine: Accounting Intern

Location: Onsite at Plant 10 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, United States. Relocation is available. Full-time work of 40 or more hours per week is required from May through August 2027.

Salary: $18.00–$27.50 per hour.

Mercury Marine, a division of hirify.global, manufactures recreational marine propulsion engines, boats, services, parts, and marine electronics for recreational, commercial, and government applications.

What you will do

• Support monthly fixed asset accounting, including additions, transfers, disposals, and depreciation calculations.
• Assist with physical asset verification projects and fixed asset audits.
• Record and reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Support monthly and quarterly close activities, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Analyze financial data and identify process improvement opportunities.
• Support reporting requests, special projects, ad hoc analyses, accounting policies, internal controls, and U.S. GAAP compliance.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least second-semester sophomore standing with 48 completed credits.
• Availability to work full-time, 40 or more hours per week, from May through August 2027.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to manage priorities independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Junior or senior standing in an Accounting or Finance program.
• Prior internship, co-op, or accounting-related work experience.
• Understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control concepts.
• Interest in continuous improvement and process automation.
