Assurance Intern - Summer 2027 (Accounting)

Location: Chicago, United States; travel to assigned client locations is required

Compensation: $34–$40 per hour

What you will do

• Understand clients’ businesses, industries, accounting and control systems, and industry-related GAAP and GAAS issues.
• Build working relationships with clients and contribute to multiple team engagements.
• Learn and apply the hirify.global audit approach and related tools.
• Assess risks and evaluate clients’ internal control structures.
• Perform substantive tests and tests of internal controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues.
• Draft financial statements using prescribed formats.

Requirements

• At least 90 completed credit hours.
• Currently pursuing a B.A., B.S., or equivalent degree at an accredited university.
• Accounting major.
• Ability to travel to assigned client locations.
• Access to and ability to arrange reliable transportation to client locations.
• Entry-level candidates must not require employment sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Ability to work effectively on a team and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
