Mental Health Specialist 1 / Behavior Tech / DSP

Location: Centerville, Minnesota, USA; on-site, full-time role. Weekend and holiday shifts may be required.

Compensation: Up to $20 per hour; fixed starting rate of $20.00/hour.

What you will do

• Provide direct support focused on safety, skill-building, positive engagement, and independent living.
• Follow behavior support plans, treatment plans, crisis-prevention strategies, de-escalation techniques, and trained manual restraint procedures.
• Assist with daily living skills, household tasks, transportation, appointments, activities, and community engagement.
• Document services, behavioral observations, health concerns, and program activities in electronic systems including T-logs, Therap, and health tracking tools.
• Monitor behavioral changes, identify escalation indicators, and communicate with supervisors and external partners during crisis or safety situations.
• Support family and personal contacts, follow medical and nutrition plans, assist with permitted medication administration tasks, and maintain a safe living environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of experience providing mental or behavioral health services.
• Must be at least 18 years old; some programs require employees to be at least 21.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use electronic documentation systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and safely manage physically demanding situations.
