Senior Accountant (AI)

Location: On-site at hirify.global headquarters in McLean, Virginia, Monday through Friday. Relocation to McLean may be discussed for candidates who are not currently based nearby.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end monthly close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and preparation of a clean trial balance.
• Manage AP, AR, and payroll operations, including vendor onboarding, billing-to-cash reconciliation, payroll booking, accruals, and allocations.
• Drive revenue recognition under ASC 606 and partner with the Controller on technical accounting positions for non-routine transactions.
• Prepare income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements with reconciliations and variance analysis for leadership and board reporting.
• Build and maintain AI-driven accounting automations using Claude Cowork and MCP integrations.
• Support ERP migration, including system selection, data migration, finance-tool integration, systems, and controls.

Requirements

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining public accounting with in-house or startup experience.
• Strong command of US GAAP and hands-on ASC 606 revenue recognition experience.
• Experience independently owning monthly close and running AP, AR, and payroll with minimal oversight.
• High standards for accuracy, reconciliation, documentation, and verification.
• Resourceful, self-directed approach to researching technical accounting questions and resolving ambiguous issues.
• Active CPA license is strongly preferred; familiarity with AI tooling, SQL, or light scripting is beneficial.

Nice to have

• Financial services experience, especially wealth management, asset management, or registered investment advisor experience.
• Familiarity with Stripe and Ramp.
