Embedded Software Engineer II (SATCOM)

Location: Westminster, Colorado, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations under space technology export regulations.

Salary: $113,000–$136,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and port embedded Linux applications, device drivers, and reusable software libraries.
• Configure and customize Linux kernels, U-Boot bootloaders, and tailored embedded Linux distributions.
• Support board bring-up and software enablement for new embedded hardware platforms.
• Implement, integrate, debug, test, verify, and qualify software throughout the development lifecycle.
• Maintain the Yocto-based Linux build system, support CI/CD pipelines, and package software images for multiple hardware platforms.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, FPGA, and systems engineering teams on integration, performance, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Knowledge of embedded Linux, device drivers, embedded applications, low-level software, Linux kernel customization, and bootloader functionality.
• Experience with Yocto or a similar embedded Linux build system, board bring-up, and hardware/software integration.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex embedded software issues using debugging tools, system logs, test outputs, and diagnostic data.
• Ability to work on-site in office, laboratory, and engineering development environments, with required U.S. export-regulation work authorization.
