Senior Staff Embedded Software Engineer (SATCOM)

What you will do

• Design and implement embedded software from requirements through production and commercial deployment.
• Develop, code, test, debug, document, and review system software for Linux-based single-board computers and microcontroller systems.
• Create software designs, roadmaps, block diagrams, detailed implementations, analyses, qualification plans, and in-orbit support processes.
• Integrate and validate product designs, support software quality assurance, and optimize I/O performance.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers and assess third-party and open-source software.
• Present engineering design reviews to customers and executives and contribute to proposal writing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• At least 12 years of industry experience in software development.
• Hands-on embedded hardware development and troubleshooting, including API design for FPGA interfaces.
• Extensive experience with C and an object-oriented programming language, preferably C++.
• Experience designing embedded systems with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.
• Knowledge of real-time coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces, hardware subsystems, multithreaded applications, resource management, configuration management, defect tracking, and peer review.

Nice to have

• Experience developing aerospace products.
• Knowledge of electronics schematics and component data sheets.
• Experience with ARM processors and fully featured microcontrollers.
• Experience designing and developing a Software Development Kit.
• Experience with real-time Linux.
