Embedded Software Engineer (C/C++)

Location: Site-based role in Carlsbad, California or Duluth, Georgia; employees work at least 3 days per week from a hirify.global office or work location.

Salary: $117,000–$185,000 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $145,000–$218,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design, develop, deliver, and support software for embedded satellite terminal products, including Ka-band, L-band, and 5G systems.
• Contribute as an individual software engineer within an agile development team.
• Participate in software design, development, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with software engineers and other teams to deliver quality software on schedule.
• Travel up to 10%.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or computer engineering, with relevant computer science coursework.
• Hands-on software development or relevant academic project experience using C/C++.
• Proven experience with Linux/UNIX and object-oriented development methodology.
• Experience using AI tooling in software development.
• Strong analytical, communication, ownership, and software design evaluation skills.
• US citizenship or permanent residence required.

Nice to have

• Embedded systems experience with Linux, bare-metal programming, C/C++ unit testing, and Linux hardware peripheral or kernel development.
• Experience with multithreaded programming, Git, CMake, POSIX, and Bash scripting.
• Coursework or familiarity with RF and satellite communications principles.
