Legal Counsel (Insurance)

What you will do

• Provide proactive legal advice to the UK business on product matters, non-claims disputes, agency, and distribution.
• Negotiate, draft, and review transactional agreements, including delegated underwriting, broker engagement, facilities, and claims handling agreements.
• Coordinate with legal centres of expertise on regulatory, compliance, governance, employment, litigation, reinsurance, underwriting, and data and digital matters.
• Develop precedent documents, templates, guidance, and training for the business.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and help streamline legal service delivery.
• Manage external law firms to ensure high-quality, cost-effective services and alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor with experience at a law firm or global insurer or reinsurer.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and independently when required.
• Ability to work primarily from the London office.
