Project Manager - Baggage Handling Systems (BHS)

Location: Chicago, Illinois; full-time on-site presence required. Candidates must be within a reasonable commute or open to weekly travel, depending on project needs, to a major airline hub such as DFW, IAH, ATL, EWR, ORD, LGA, SAT, PHX, LAX, or IAD.

Compensation: $164,279.49–$187,747.98 per year.

What you will do

• Manage the day-to-day planning, coordination, and implementation of one or more baggage handling system projects.
• Serve as the primary contact for airport leadership and coordinate with TSA Regional Deployment Coordinators and contract personnel.
• Lead construction and implementation teams, resolve issues between design and delivery teams, and coordinate stakeholder engagement.
• Review design responses to RFIs and submittals for compliance with contract documents.
• Attend commissioning and testing of baggage handling systems to verify compliance with contract requirements, TSA standards, and applicable guidelines.
• Develop and monitor schedules and deliverables, manage changes, and coordinate design, cost, procurement, installation, ORAT, commissioning, training, reporting, and close-out activities.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience managing or implementing aviation baggage handling system projects.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong business acumen in project planning and management.
• Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and client presentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to take ownership with minimal supervision.
• Thorough understanding of TSA Planning Guidelines and Design Standards.
