Underwriter II, Trade Credit (Trade Credit)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; primarily in the office

Salary: $65,000–$85,000 base salary per year, plus eligibility for a bonus under the applicable incentive plan.

What you will do

• Develop relationships with trade credit brokers and clients to grow the business portfolio.
• Underwrite new and renewal insurance submissions and negotiate policy terms and conditions.
• Analyze domestic and international corporate credit and financial information to recommend or approve credit limits and terms.
• Maintain and service an existing trade credit insurance portfolio.
• Market, sell, and present trade credit solutions to brokers and insureds.
• Train and mentor underwriters, collaborate with distribution colleagues, and support underwriting, marketing, audit, and special projects.

Requirements

• Background in credit or financial analysis and strong commercial development skills.
• Preferred: 1–4 years of underwriting experience.
• Experience in trade credit, finance, or banking is preferred.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as Cap IQ and Salesforce.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or finance required; MBA preferred.
