Engineer, Data Development (SSIS, SQL)

Location: Chennai, India; hybrid work with at least two days per week in an assigned hirify.global office

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Business Intelligence solutions, database systems, and data warehouses.
• Work with SQL Server, Integration Services, Analysis Services, Reporting Services, Master Data Management, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and GCP where appropriate.
• Design and capture requirements for new Business Intelligence initiatives and produce and run unit tests.
• Debug complex BI and data warehouse systems, analyze defects, and implement permanent fixes.
• Collaborate across the organization as a technical expert and contribute to continuous process improvement.
• Mentor and train junior data engineers on BI and data warehouse best practices.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence development, data engineering, or a related data field.
• Advanced knowledge of T-SQL, SQL Server 2017 or later, SQL Server Integration Services, stored procedures, views, and functions.
• Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services in Tabular mode, Reporting Services, PowerPivot, Microsoft Fabric, and large databases.
• Experience writing database unit tests and using automated testing and build systems.
• Experience with data warehouse design, including dimensional modelling, and REST-based APIs.
• Fluent English with excellent written and verbal communication skills; hybrid attendance at the assigned office is required at least two days per week.

• Microsoft certification at MCP level or higher.
